PDT Community and Charity Initiatives
At PDT we are committed to supporting each other in the work we do. We care about the environment in which we work and the impact that we have as a business on the wider community. Our core commitments include a commitment to looking after each other and those around us. This means recognising that being in business is not just about building a commercially successful law firm, but also about allowing everyone who works for us the opportunity to give and help in a way they want.
Transplant Sport: PDT designated charity 2019
After having a kidney transplant only 3 years ago, Karen Barrett, Legal Secretary in our Corporate and Commercial department represented Great Britain and NI in the Bowling Team at the World Transplant Games 2019 held in Newcastle. We have supported Karen leading up to and post her transplant operation and sponsored her and her husband at the event, who donated his kidney to Karen, covering their costs to compete and attend the games.
In tribute to this wonderful story we decided to select Transplant Sport as our designated charity for 2019. This worthy cause is the largest national charity promoting active recovery for transplant recipients and increasing awareness of the benefits of organ donation.

Throughout the year we undertake a number of activities to raise money for the charity. These include cake sales, fundraising events and even a swear box!
